Shopping In London!

So I couldn't resist it, much to my mothers protest, I did naaat go crazy shopping in London. But I did very much enjoy seeing all the window and product displays. Here are a few of my favourite things that I stumbled across...

This picture of Ted Baker was taken in Selfridges & co. I was then very easily persuaded into treating myself to a very lovely make-up bag, my first and only item I have ever bought from Selfridges,

Can you guess, this was taken in the Christian Louboutin corner in Selfridges...I want it...

Fortnum &Mason remains a strong favourite and I was even around for the chime of the clock at the front of the store. To the tune of the Eton School Anthem, the little doors of the clock opened and figures of Mr Fortnum and Mr Mason appear and bow to each other, turn around and go back inside!

I just stumbled across this beauty, I was in London during the release of Great Gatsby and I very much appreciated  Tiffany's window display.

I of course found Mulberry...

Burberry...

and Vogue House...

I was also in London during the much awaited birth of Kate and Will's baby and I was loving Liberty's sweet baby windows.

Till next time!

Week Three: Chelsea, boats, bikes and ice-cream!

Week three already...time flew throughout the summer. One of my friends, who moved to England to work in the summer came through to London and so we had a wee adventure, and yes we went evidently headed to the Royal Borough of Kensignton and Chelsea... this will be my front door one day!

We also found the Albert Bridge, it honestly one of the nicest bridges I have ever seen, wish we saw it in the dark though, I love all things that sparkle.

Me and Martin may have pretended we were having a dramatic heated conversation at Chelsea Embankment, reminiscent to those in Made in Chelsea (can you tell we're fan?)

We then all hopped on a tube (which are very toasty in the height of summer) and headed to Oxford Street and stumbled 'hurm hunted down' the Disney store which is just a magical place. And yes we did crawl into the bottom of this display unit and press all the buttons inside!

Our tummies then began to rumble so we headed to M&S (yes we were really living the student life) to get some lunch and I bought some strawberries and bucks fizz and headed to Hyde Park.

It was a lovely roasting hot day. We did a little people watching admiring the talents of the rollerbladers... and with 1975 blaring out my favourite song at Live in Hyde Park, we wandered over to the Serpentine Lake and dipped our feet in (I do not recommend that, we slipped on the slimy moss and almost landed on our bottoms...not a cool look and very hard to recover from).

Instead we decided to find another way to enjoy the lake, other than admiring it, and so accompanied by a few other girlies who joined us, we hired a pedal boat which was hilariously fun (not so much when a herd of swans started attacking us and we thought were were gonna capsize, but hey all fun and games!)

The fun did not end there however, oh know everybody rendezvous to South Embankment and we may have found an ice-cream van and a merry-go-round....

On Sunday I took Em's for a wee bike ride along Regents Canal to Camden, as I enjoyed it so much last time.

Em had to leave to go back to work so our little adventure came to an end as we headed to Waterloo Station, but we had a chance to get a snap of the two of us on Waterloo Bridge.

After I said goodbye to Em's I headed to Bluebird on King's Road in Chelsea for some yummy cocktails and the most amazing eton mess (the location may have been chosen as it was a hotspot for the Made in Chelsea cast, needless to say we did not see anyone famous, but hey we had fun anyway!)

Then to be honest it was back to the flat to fall in a heap and start the week all over again!

Till next time!

Week Two: V & A

Sooo in among all our classes we managed to find time to squeeze in a visit to the Victorian Albert Museum, it was my first ever time at the V&A...I was VERY excited! We got tickets to see the'Club to Catwalk: London Fashion in the 1980s' exhibition. I literally spent ages in there! That's what I love most about exhibitions, they let you forget who you are opening a completely new world in which you can get lost. And the V&A exhibition did not let me down. I am fascinated by the story of fashion and the Club to Catwalk exhibition allowed me to take a step back to the 80's. The 80's, the decade of rebellion, extremes, extravagance and creativity. It was a fashion revolution and I loved it!

I then took a wander around the rest of the fashion area (...I just might have had my nose pressed up against the glass...) These are by far my favourite things I saw...

I couldn't go to the V&A without buying the magazine, so I have another magazine to add to my ever growing collection (am like my Dad, I can't through anything out!)

This has to be one of my favourite photos, it was right before I realised I had left my bed covers in the laundry room, which closed in 40 minutes.....by some kind of miracle I made it back in time and spent the evening using my hairdryer to dry my bedcovers...I am such a fail at life sometimes!

Week Two: Central Saint Martins

In my second week of summer school we were lucky enough to have a day at Central Saint Martins...

My friends casually posing outside Central Saint Martins!

We had our classes in the LVMH lecture theatre ( I could hardly contain my excitement!)

It was another glorious day of sunshine and much to our delight the steps overlooking Regents Canal were covered with fake grass and so we spent our lunch hour sunning ourselves and chilling on the grass...

Just outside the school there were fountains which I decided to run in and out of, So. Much. Fun.

After class we walked along Regents Canal, all the way to Camden!

At Camden Lock we stopped and watched a band called the Kings Parade, I have since become obsessed with their music, definitely worth a listen...

Nutella is possibly my most favourite food, so I was chuffed to find this on the back of a takeaway van haha!

Chilling on the scooter chairs!

Time to go home to Hackney!

Week Two: Weekend Baby!

Our first weekend in London was my favourtie (don't know how I can say that it was all ma favoutie...but seriously this was my favourite haha!) In the morning we went to our local street market and stumbled across some Boris Bikes and thought, whhhhy not!?! After much a humming and ahhhing (maybe more like grunting and screaming) I finally worked out how to release my bike (it was a good start!)

We rode our bikes along Regents Canal, (completely lethal, we almost ended up in the canal several times!) and ended up in Camden.Camden, ah I just loved it! My little face couldn't contain my smile and I could not contain my excitment! I loved wandering in and out of all the stalls, getting lost, listening to the sales patter, finding hidden treasures, I could have stayed there forever.

Our spot at lunch, a beautiful view of the canal ...

Yet again we took a disco nap and headed out for a night in the town, this time we ended up in Shoreditch...

On Sunday we rose bright eyed and bushy tailed and headed off to Potters Fields Park. Thanks to Google we discovered there was a big screen showing the Wimbledon final! This was our spot, it was completely packed with people on what I am sure was the hottest day of the year!

The atmosphere alone was electrifying! By miles it was the best game I have ever seen! These was taken straight after Andy's win! The excitement on our faces says it all haha!

 Till next time xxx
