Dream Catch Me When I Fall

Hellooo! So I have been home from Rockness for just over a week and it is just a total blur! I can't quite believe I was actually there (and I can't believe how lucky we were with the weather!) For my first ever festival it was just amazing fun. Am hooked and will be back next year!

Here are some of my favourite highlights...

 Wellie boots, an absolute must! Even though there was no mud I wore them all the time!

Some of my favourite bands - Lianne la Havas, Camera Obscura, Bombay Bicycle club and Dog is Dead.

But Newton Faulkner, by far was my most favourite. His performance of Dream Catch Me was just magic, I wont ever forget it.

This photo was taken on the last morning I spent on the campsite, I couldn't sleep, so went for a walk and the view was breathtaking. Makes me proud to be Scottish (yes now I'm going to watch Brave and broaden my accent haha!)

But me and my best friend Eilidh had so much fun! The pair of us met at secondary school and were pretty much inseparable at school, to the point that she knows and remembers more about my life than I do!

At some point in our lives we all get a little lost, everyone of us, whether it is second guessing a decision we have made, doubt in our abilities to succeed, our fear of failure...but my advice to you is to hang onto the people that make you smile and those who make you laugh, and make memories with them which will last a lifetime.

So I would like to thank you Rockness for great music, fun in the sun and absolute top banter (and great chips, yeah really really good chips!)

Off to see Nessie!

Well tomorrow I am jumping on a coach and going on a wee adventure up to Inverness to the banks of Loch Ness! Wooo, my first ever music festival experience and it is Rockness, with my bestest friend!

So I spent the day packing...this is how it went....from this...

Yes I was pretty impressed by my packing skills! Although I have never been to a music festival, thanks to many a friends I knew exactly what to take, however I thought I would create a survival list for any fellow festival goers!

My Sweet Tooth

Well it has been a wee while since I last blogged, sorry! I don't really have any excuse other than I have either been  busy being a domestic goddess or I have been at work, working my little butt off!

But yeah, I have always had a very sweet tooth for all things sugary. A childhood favourite was a jammy doughnut! Nothing beats a jammy doughnut! Now I am not a big coffee drinker, however when I was on holiday I became very fond of a certain drink, a cafe bon bon, which was perfect for my sweet tooth. It is condensed milk and a shot of esspresso and it is delicious!

And my Dad, bless him, managed to recreate it back home! Was so good!

As well as enjoying my Dad's coffee creations, this past week I have also been baking!

 Here is my favourite recipe ever! They come out perfect everytime!

Wearing It Today

Hello, just a wee post today! I haven't done one like this before, so don't laugh! I often wonder if what I wear goes together or if it suits me, I second guess myself a lot! That's my problem, in general, I over analyse EVERYTHING! However, despite my brothers sniggers, I have started experimenting with my look; dressing more how I want to, for me. I am a big believer that what you wear affects your mood and I think it's important to experiment,  have fun and make your fashion personal, cause lets face it, in fashion there is no right or wrong!

De Nîmes

Hello fashionistas! I have been enjoying many a lazy days, yay! This weekend I jumped around puddles, ducking and diving in and out of rain showers in an attempt to see Iron Man 3 (which was umazing!). But today I decided to do some blogging.

Yesterday at work I had to 'Get Geeky About Denim  (not my choice of words, it was the name of the booklet!), however being the little nerd I am I found it rather interesting!

Now, I bet every single one of you has a pair of Denim Jeans in your wardrobe, however I bet none of you have ever thought about where Denim came from. Well I am now Geeky about Denim (HA!) so here we go!

Denim was invented in the 16th Century in Nîmes, France (a very nice city which I have actually visited thanks to my Mum's navigation skills!). The fabric was called 'Serge' and as it originated from Nîmes, it was originally named Serge de Nîmes, thiswas eventually shortened to denim (de Nîmes) (wee fun fact for you there!).
Denim is a very durable fabric and was originally used in sailor's work clothes and worn by slaves working in plantations. In 1853, during the San Francisco Gold Rush, Levi Strauss supplied Denim clothing to miners as it did not tear easily. In 1872 Jacob Davis developed the design, using metal rivets to fasten pockets to the trousers. An agreement was made between Strauss and Davis and the copper riveted jeans were born and Denim became essential wear of Gold Rush miners in the 19th Century.

Cowboys in Hollywood western movies popularised Denim Jeans in the 1930's. In the 1950's Jeans became associated with teenage rebellion and were worn by icons such as James Dean. In the 1960's the hippie culture brought painted and embroidered Jeans into fashion. However it was not until the 1970's that Jeans actually became an affordable comfort wear, popular across the world.

Denim Jeans have continued to embody youth spirit and it is an essential fabric to any fashionista's casual wear wardrobe, make sure you have a few pairs in your wardrobe!

Sunshine Yellow

Heya! So I am thoroughly enjoying my holidays and loving the fact that I have nothing to do! (I am currently ignoring the big pile of dishes in the kitchen and the mess of my room and determined to believe I have nothing to do!) So today I decided to paint my nails yellow, a pure bright sunny yellow.

My Mum can't believe my new colour choice for my nails and it even caught the attention and surprised my Dad's friend (not like a man to noticed but, well, hey it is pretty bright!). But I am falling in love with this colour, which is a trending colour for Spring/Summer 2013 season. The shops are full of yellow, so we can all look just as bright as the summer sun.
I decided to have a wee look around and found out that yellow, symbolises wisdom and means joy and happiness.

Also a Top Tip for those of you who are still studying: yellow creates an uplifting effect and it is full of creative and intellectual energy, so use it around your bedroom and use yellow note pads to help clear your mind and improve your memory (this is true, I did some digging around!)

Like the energy of a bright sunny day, yellow brings relief, clarity and awareness, so have some fun and put some yellow in your life!

I'm Back!

Hello, well it has been a long time since I last blogged! (ooops slap wrist!) But I am back! I originally set up this blog as part of coursework for University, but I don't think I ever really found my stride.
